Add These Salt Lake City Conferences to Your 2018 Business Travel Plans
Attending conferences is one of the best aspects of traveling for business. Business and professional conferences are a great way to stay abreast of the latest information, policies and technological advance happening in your industry. Deciding which conference to attend, however, can be a bit trickier.
With so many options based on your desired professional goals and industry, it can be tough narrowing down the conferences you should attend. From education to connected cars, here are five conferences in Salt Lake City that could be a good fit for your professional needs.
1. American Society Of Engineering Education
The American Society Of Engineering Education (ASEE) annual conference takes place June 24 - 27 at the Salt Palace Convention Center. The ASEE is the only conference dedicated to all disciples of engineering education. The goal of the conference is to enhance engineering education and curriculum while fostering networking opportunities for attendees. The conference will feature 400 technical sessions and peer-reviewed papers from all the engineering disciplines. Attendees include engineering teachers, students, administrators and those who work in government and industry.
2. Utah Early Childhood Conferences
The Utah Early Childhood Conference takes place March 3 at Skyline High School. If you work in the early childhood field than the Utah early childhood conference is a can't miss event. The conference has been active for 42 years and is the largest early childhood conference in the state.
It provides attendees with presentations, personal development and education and training by early childhood experts. You'll be able to network with the early childhood exhibitors featured at the conference as well as make connections with experts and professionals in the industry. Dr. Becky Bailey, founder of Conscious Discipline, will be the keynote speaker at this year's conference.
3. Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education
The Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education (AALHE) will host its eighth annual conference June 4-7. The 2018 conference will feature pre-conference professional development workshops scheduled for June 4. Here's the pre-workshop schedule from 2017 as an example of the type of workshops that are held at the conference.
The workshops will allow you to gain new skills, learn about new technologies and gain industry knowledge you can take back to your home institution. The conference itself will feature nationally known speakers, skills building opportunities and panel discussions. There will also be time for networking events so you'll get a chance to mingle with the experts in your field.
4. Cityworks Conference
If your organization uses Cityworks' GIS-centric asset management solution, then the Cityworks Conference is the place to be to see if you're utilizing your investment to the fullest. The 2018 conference will feature information on utilizing Cityworks new platforms and how to build custom solutions to fit the needs of your organization.
The conference will also offer professional development opportunities to help your company reach their goals, outside of the Cityworks platform. The conference will take place Salt Palace Convention Center May 9-11. Pre-conference training and workshops begin May 7-8.
5. CONNECT Conference
The CONNECT Conference will take place May 8-10. If you work in the electric cooperative field, CONNECT is the annual national conference for you. It's an outstanding opportunity if you work in the industry. If you work in the work in the electric co-op industry in any capacity, from marketers to member service professionals, you should consider attending this conference.
The conference features more than 550 electric co-op professionals at the three-day conference. CONNECT's goals are to provide resources and tools to better communicate between member organizations. Also, the conference will have the latest information on technologies to reduce cost, provide better customer section and improve efficiency for electric co-ops.
