What: Upside Business Travel at HRSouthwest Conference 2019, Booth 1038
When: October 27-30, 2019
Where: Fort Worth Convention Center, Fort Worth, Texas
The HRSouthwest Conference is a two and a half day event in Fort Worth, Texas. With over 2,500 attendees each year, it’s one of the largest human resources events in the country. There will be a variety of speakers and sessions to help attendees learn more about HR and hone their craft, as well as plenty of networking opportunities.
The conference officially starts on Sunday, October 28th, but there will be several pre-conference workshops offered on the 27th. Workshops must be registered and paid for separately, but they’re approved for up to 8 credit hours of HRCI HR General Recertification. To get the full credit amount, you can take either one full day workshop, for 8 credits, or two half-day workshops, at 4 credits each. Available workshops include Creating the Optimal Candidate Experience, which teaches best practices for recruiting and increasing application completion rates.
Then on Sunday the 28th, the conference begins in earnest. This year, there will be two keynote speakers at the conference. We open with David Horsager, on the 28th at 8:15am. Author of The Trust Edge, he’ll discuss how trust in the workplace leads to productivity, creativity, and ultimately, better results.
Then on Wednesday the 30th, the conference closes with Carla Hall at 11am. A former runway model, Top Chef contestant, and TV show host, Hall will speak on “Trusting Your Authentic Self,” and how following your instincts can lead to incredible opportunities.
Other scheduled speakers throughout the conference include Neeley School of Business instructor Danyelle Ackall (What If I Make a Mistake: Surviving Your New HR Career, Tuesday the 29th at 8:45am), E3 Professional Trainers co-founder Randy Anderson (“How to Become an Effective Negotiator,” Tuesday the 29th at 2pm), and Kedge Head of Human Design Nicole Baker Rosa (“Wicked Opportunities: Innovation as a Business Strategy,” Wednesday the 30th at 8:15am).
There’s plenty of other great stuff going on at the HRSouthwest Conference this year as well, including a wide array of noteworthy exhibitors, workshops, networking opportunities, and more. Some of the sponsors this year include Delta Dallas staffing solutions, Belo Media Group, and Paylocity, all of whom are worth checking out while you’re there.
